{"id":9836,"date":"2021-06-21T15:45:57","date_gmt":"2021-06-21T13:45:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/?p=9836"},"modified":"2023-10-16T16:35:46","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T14:35:46","slug":"parrots-or-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/?p=9836","title":{"rendered":"Parrots or people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As said in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/?p=9828\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9828\" target=\"_blank\">the previous post<\/a>, legendary amongst many, is the Monty Python &#8220;parrot&#8221; sketch&#8221; (sometimes called &#8220;The Pet Shop&#8221;); this I have always understood to be a <em>par<\/em>ody of the linguistic flights of fancy <em>[sic!]<\/em> we have taken (at least in the Anglophone world) to avoid speaking plainly on the subject of death. I must admit to being fundamental in this regard, and even the oft used <em>&#8220;pass&#8221;<\/em>  and its derivatives (<em>-away, -on, -over<\/em>), though inoffensive, irritate me madly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>When all&#8217;s said and done we share the same fate. So, say it out loud, that what needs to be said:  be it parrots or people, let dead be dead.
