And, that was back to the London of a century ago, and all that could happen on just one day traversing the topography between Westminster and Bond Street &#8211; on the ground, in the heart and in the head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-medium is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/653391\/mrs-dalloway-by-virginia-woolf-edited-by-stella-mcnichol-foreword-by-jenny-offill-introduction-and-notes-by-elaine-showalter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/MrsDalloway_penguin-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12193\" width=\"113\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/MrsDalloway_penguin-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/stolb01web.ddns.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/MrsDalloway_penguin.jpg 675w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 113px) 85vw, 113px\" \/><\/a><figcaption> Penguin ed. 2021<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">A particular literary journey inspired, at least to some extent it seems, by the publication of two new editions of Virginia Woolf&#8217;s <em>Mrs. Dalloway<\/em> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/653391\/mrs-dalloway-by-virginia-woolf-edited-by-stella-mcnichol-foreword-by-jenny-offill-introduction-and-notes-by-elaine-showalter\/\" target=\"_blank\">one from Penguin Random House<\/a> (with a forward by Jenny Offill and introduction and notes by Elaine Showalter) and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwnorton.com\/books\/9781631496769\/overview\" target=\"_blank\">an annotated edition<\/a> from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.merveemre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Merve Emre<\/a> published by Liveright (w.w. norton). Or was it the other way round, and these publications came with an awareness of renewed interest and the potential of a new readership amongst younger generations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whichever, as a matter of &#8216;housekeeping&#8217;, and before they go astray amongst my chaotic collection of bookmarks and the like, following are links to just three of the articles that I have collected during the year.
