I haven&#8217;t read Higgins&#8217; previous books, but she is known to me from her excellent and varied cultural journalism at <em>The Guardian<\/em>, and her declared rational behind her &#8220;retelling&#8221; is so compelling, that this too now a must read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interesting, also: drawings by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chris_Ofili\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Ofili<\/a>!
